The Alpha Kappa Lambda Education Foundation, supporting its chapter at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, is pleased to announce the creation of a $1,000 Scholarship Program for the 2010 academic year.
The scholarship is available to any male planning to attend the University of Illinois. All applicants who meet or exceed the All-Men’s University Grade Point Average will be eligible for a $1,000 from the AKL Education Foundation at the beginning of the second semester at the University. Applications will be judged based on AKL ideals. For generations at the University of Illinois, AKL has built “Men of Character” and leaders who “Make a Difference” in our world. Success has always been measured based upon academic, athletic and social/community performance and development as future leaders. Applying for this scholarship in NO WAY obligates you to join Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity. The selection of the recipients will be based upon fulfillment of AKL ideals not upon the applicant joining our organization.
AKL understands scholastic achievement is paramount to a successful university career, and more importantly, a successful career after college. All Active members are required to maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA each semester of their membership.
The Education Foundation is proud to make this commitment to our newest Illini and their future. Please visit our website to learn more about the AKL commitment to education, mentoring and support.
Applications will be due by August 1, 2010. Applications may be dropped off in-person to the Chapter House, 401 E. Daniel St, Champaign, IL any weekend in June & July from 11am-3pm. Alternatively applications may be mailed or submitted on-line.
