The Honor Code Ideals Fraternity Motto Fraternity Creed
The Honor Code
“We will not lie, steal or cheat, nor tolerate among us anyone who does.”
The Honor Code of AKΛ and the men of Gamma was established to urge all men to live and work with the highest sense of personal integrity and honor. It represents the minimum standard men are expected to follow. Honor, integrity and loyalty to the fraternity, ourselves and our family, their customs and traditions are fundamental characteristics essential to a successful life. The offenses of lying, cheating and stealing are intolerable in our Fraternity and may be cause for separation from AKΛ. The emphasis on ‘doing what is right’ rather than simply not breaking the rules, doing the best one can do every day and helping one another are core principles of Men of Character and AKΛ.

Ideals
The Alpha Kappa Lambda ideals are our five cornerstones:
- Scholarship
- Leadership
- Loyalty
- Judeo-Christian Principles
- Self-Support
The members of the Alumni Association of Alpha Kappa Lambda teach men the commitments made to each other are not merely remote ideals, but areas of discipline for daily life. All AKΛ men (Alumni, Active and New Members) support, and in turn have the support of, their brothers in living these principles.
Through Alpha Kappa Lambda, men with different backgrounds but similar ideals unite with a common purpose: to foster excellence in scholarship, leadership, individual growth, and involvement in community service. AKΛ is dedicated to Men of Character, Committed to Making A Difference in the world.
The motto of the fraternity is "Alethia Kai Logos," which in Classical Greek means "The Truth and the Word".
The motto is a symbolic statement of our Ideals. We are seekers after Truth, the highest Truth... and the Word, which lends itself to personal interpretation and individual responsibilty and action.
